New Air Fryer!

The Philips air fryer is a wonderful kitchen helper, but it was too restrictive IMO.
The basket was too small for bigger pieces of meat, and it was a big hassle to clean it too.

Some people (somehow) take out the wire mesh from the bottom of the basket, but... doesn't work for me.

So for my new kitchen, I bought the Europace air fryer!
It's pretty big, you can even stuff a whole chicken in it.
It comes with a metal stand, a small metal plate, and a rotisserie stick to air fry fries and whole chickens.

Some drawbacks compared to the Philips air fryer

1 - Instead of pulling the basket out like a drawer, you lift the entire top assembly off
This is pretty heavy, and may be unwieldy if your hands are tied up holding raw food, also you need to lift up the top so that it's high enough for the locking mechanism to activate. Otherwise it's just going to fall on your hand.

2 - I'm not sure if this is true.. but it feels that not as hot as the Philips air fryer. There's a lot of air being vented out at the gap between the glass top and the bottom. And also, it is glass... as compared to the thick body of the Philips.

3 - To air fry fries, there's a metal cylinder where you place them in. And when the air fryer works, it turns the metal cylinder around. Pretty cool if you ask me. By turning it around, the cooking is fairly even.
But the problem is taking it out.

When you stop cooking, the whole thing is HOT HOT HOT. It's pretty difficult to take out the cylinder, open the little door, and pour the fries out onto the plate. And there's a high chance of fries trying to escape too, as the door is fairly wide.
It was way more convenient to hold the basket of the Philips and just dunk out its contents onto a plate.

Surely there are some good points!

Yes there are!

1 - Cleaning. Way easier than the Philips. You can take out everything to wash. The bottom basket if completely removable, no annoying wire mesh to brush and try and get food scraps out.

Cleaning the fan is easy too, just wipe it out. Glass too.

2 - It's see through! You can look at your food as it cooks!

Verdict??

So.. would I buy it again? Yes! The Philips is really expensive and small. This one, for all its drawbacks, is more flexible. Easy cleaning is a big win too! I dreaded using the Philips because of the cleaning I have to do afterwards. No such barriers with this one!

I guess if you're looking out for an air fryer, this can possibly be a contender to the Philips. Sadly this is a pretty old model and seems to only be sold by the distributor in Singapore now, so here's an equivalent:
